100% Chance You'll Get It Wrong.😖 💯 🔨

It's simple, really.

Go to that giant warehouse filled with DIY furniture.

Pick out your favorites (after your inevitable 3 hour shopping trip).

Load them onto the cart and into your car.

Then take them home where the real fun begins.

Open the boxes to find instructions inside.

Simple picture illustrations make it as easy and non-threatening as possible to assemble said furniture.

You begin your furniture construction with one solid swing of the hammer.

The metal piece easily glides into the other and you're off to the races.

You're feeling pretty good, so you grab the next piece and strike that into place with the hammer just like the other piece.

Looking grea...

Wait...why doesn't this look like the picture?

Take a closer look at the photos in the instructions.

You realized you grabbed the pieces that did NOT have the tiny little knob on the bottom.

But you were supposed to attach the ones WITH the little knobs.

Shoot.

Time to pry the pieces apart and start over.

This time, paying attention the those tiny, itty-bitty knobs on the bottom.

Then start the construction process all over again.

And...that's how my day started.

What I thought was going to be a quick and easy 20 minutes to assemble my new shelving units ended up taking 2 hours thanks to my need to back track and re-do.

It was my mistake for overlooking those tiny little (Seriously...itty-bitty) knobs, but the directions made it hard to see what pieces they were talking about.

Do you know what I want to make sure you don't need to do in 2025?

Back track.

Re-do.

Get discouraged.

And quit.

We try to leave our house as close to 7am every morning. The kids need to be to school by 7:50 but like to get there as close to 7:30 as possible to spend time with friends before classes start. When we leave the house right at 7, we get to school by 7:25. So you would think that if we leave the house by 7:10 (just 10 minutes later), we'd still get to school 10 minutes later as well (which would be 7:35). But...that's not how it works. Because if we leave our house by 7:10, we end up getting...

I'm constantly thinking about my Etsy business. Spending focused time creating orders, thinking of new ways to expand and grow, or researching new product ideas for viability. Because when you own your own business, you can't afford to let things fall through the cracks. So, when I see opportunities for growth, I jump on it. When I am able to change my creation process to speed up production and increate quality, I make it happen. And when I need to cut our products that just aren't selling,...

Yup. You guessed it. The kiddos had another 4 day weekend which meant I had to switch things up a bit today. I have been working hard on creating killer Etsy listings for my shop, but also have been working on some really incredible things in store for the go-getters here in Maker's Business Coaching! So I had to figure out how I would make it all work today with the kiddos home. I could either sleep in, take 'er easy, and end up doing a whole lot of nothing for my businesses today. OR... I...
